Ritual of Ruin

Ritual of Ruin closes out the seven-book King’s Dark Tidings arc that began with Free the Darkness in 2015. Released in November 2025, it brings the long-running mythological backstory — first hinted at in Legends of Ahn, then escalated through Kingdoms and Chaos and Dragons and Demons — to its climax. The book is paced as a finale: the rotating-viewpoint structure of the middle volumes converges, the supporting cast that has been with Rezkin since Free the Darkness gets their final movements, and the question the series has been quietly asking since book one — what was Rezkin actually trained for, and by whom — is finally answered.

For first-time readers, this is also the book that makes the series feel “safe” to start. The seven-book arc is now complete, and there are no remaining cliffhangers between Free the Darkness and the ending.
