M Mrs Books in Order

Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 17, 2026

Mrs Books in Order ("we", "us", or "our") publishes book reading orders and reference pages at https://www.mrsbooksinorder.com. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

We try to collect as little personal information as possible. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your information to build advertising profiles.

Who we are

Mrs Books in Order is operated as an independent publication. For privacy questions, write to noah@outrankx.com or use the contact form.

Information we collect

We collect information in three narrow ways:

1. Information you give us through the contact form

When you fill out the contact form, we receive the name and email address you provide, along with your message and any optional fields you fill in (page URL for corrections, series or author name for suggestions, company or role for partnership inquiries). We use this only to respond to your message and to act on what you've told us — for example, fixing an error you reported or evaluating a series suggestion.

2. Standard server logs

Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically records standard server logs when you visit any page — typically including your IP address, browser user-agent, the page requested, the referring page, and a timestamp. These logs are used for security, abuse prevention, and debugging. We do not associate them with any personal identifier.

3. Cookies and analytics

We do not currently set any tracking or advertising cookies, and we do not currently run any analytics on the site. The site may set small functional cookies in the future (for example, to remember a preference) — and we may add a privacy-respecting analytics tool (such as Plausible or Google Analytics 4) to understand which pages are useful. If we add analytics, we will update this page and, where legally required, surface a consent banner before any non-essential tracking runs.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Reply to messages you send via the contact form;
  • Investigate and fix errors that readers report;
  • Decide which series or authors to add next;
  • Operate, maintain, and secure the site;
  • Comply with legal obligations.

Who we share information with

We only share information with service providers that help us run the site, and only as needed to do so. As of the date above, those are:

  • Vercel — hosts the site and processes server logs.
  • Resend — delivers the email generated by the contact form to our inbox. Your name, email address, and the contents of your message pass through Resend's email infrastructure.
  • Affiliate retailers (Amazon, Bookshop, Audible, and similar booksellers) — when you click a "Where to buy" link, the retailer may set its own cookies and receive the standard referral information needed to attribute the sale. We do not see what you buy. See our affiliate disclosure for more.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not share it with third parties for marketing. We may disclose information if we are required to by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Mrs Books in Order or its readers.

How long we keep information

Messages submitted through the contact form (and any reply thread) are retained in our inbox indefinitely unless you ask us to delete them. Server logs are retained by our hosting provider for a short period (typically a few weeks) for security and debugging, after which they are deleted on a rolling basis.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, write to noah@outrankx.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

U.S. residents (including California, Texas, and other state laws)

If you live in California, Texas, or another U.S. state with a consumer-privacy law, you have the right to know what personal information we have about you, to request deletion of that information, and to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland

If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, our legal basis for processing the personal information you submit through the contact form is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in responding to messages and maintaining the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You have the right to withdraw consent at any time, to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority, and to request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or objection.

Children's privacy

Mrs Books in Order is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information through the contact form, please email us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and we rely on reputable providers (Vercel, Resend) for hosting and email delivery. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we make reasonable efforts to protect the information we hold.

International data transfers

Mrs Books in Order is operated from the United States. If you are outside the U.S., information you submit will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. (and, depending on the routing of our service providers, in other countries). By using the site or contacting us, you understand and agree to that transfer.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will surface a more visible notice on the site. Continued use of the site after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
