Scorpion Mountain

A contract has been placed on the life of an Arridi princess. The order hired to carry it out is the Scorpion Cult — a sect of assassins based in a fortress in the desert that no outside force has ever breached. Hal and the Herons are asked to stop the kill before it happens, which means finding a way into Scorpion Mountain.

Scorpion Mountain is the second Ranger’s Apprentice crossover — Gilan, now the Corps Commandant, is a major character and partners with Hal for most of the book. The Arridi setting reuses the desert culture introduced in Erak’s Ransom, and returning readers will catch several familiar faces.
