Paul of Dune

Paul of Dune is the first of the Heroes of Dune interquels. It alternates two timelines — Paul’s early life on Caladan before his family leaves for Arrakis, and the years of jihad between the end of Dune and the opening of Dune Messiah.

Many readers place it after Dune Messiah in their reading order so Paul’s story lands as intended, but it works in either position once the main saga is familiar.
