Dune: The Duke of Caladan

The Duke of Caladan opens the most recent Dune trilogy, set a year before the events of Dune. Duke Leto Atreides has arrived at the peak of his authority; Jessica tends to a young Paul; and Shaddam IV begins the political maneuvers that will push House Atreides into the Arrakis trap.

Fans who have read Dune will get the most out of it — the trilogy is a close-in prequel, not an introduction.
