Line of Sight

Line of Sight is the most personal of Maden’s Jack Ryan Jr. books. Cathy Ryan — Jack’s mother, First Lady, and pediatric surgeon — asks Jack to track down a girl she treated during the Balkan Wars twenty years earlier. The missing-person job turns into something much larger, built around a war criminal who was never fully held to account.

Jack works largely outside The Campus for most of the novel, which gives the book a quieter, more investigative feel than the series average.
